SLAUGHTER-HOUSES.
There are 14 licensed slaughter-houses in the district, of
which 9 are annual licences. The slaughter-houses generally are
kept in a good condition and the bye-laws well observed.

DAIRIES, COWSHEDS, AND MILKSHOPS.
207 visits have been made to dairies, cowsheds, and milkshops,
of which there are 40 dairies, 5 cowsheds, and 9.2 milkshops
on the register, and the requirements under the Dairies, Cowsheds,
and Milkshops Orders have been complied with without
any statutory proceedings being necessary.
BAKEHOUSES.
90 visits have been made to bakehouses; the majority are
kept in a satisfactory condition. Insanitary conditions have
been dealt with where necessary and remedied by informal
notices.
MORTUARY.
During the year the number of bodies received was 65, on
50 of which post-mortems were performed.
