TO THE CHAIRMAN AND MEMBERS
of the
LEYTON EDUCATION COMMITTEE.
Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen,
I beg to present the Twelfth Annual Report on the work of
the School Medical Service in Leyton under the Education
(Administrative Provisions.) Act of 1907.
For the first time since 1914 the examination of routine
groups of children has been attempted, but owing to Dr. Ball
relinquishing his appointment in August to take up the duties of
Medical Officer of Health of Middleton, and a successor not being
obtainable until March, 1920, only the Entrants' Group were
dealt with.
Dr. Kennedy, however, continued the examination of the
"Specials," or ailing children.
The amount of work done during the year in the various:
branches, i.e., Eye, Dental and Minor Ailments, etc., sections will
be evident on a study of the details contained in the body of the
Report.
Again my thanks are due and are hereby accorded to members
and officials for their invariable courtesy and assistance.
I am,
Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen,
Your obedient Servant,
J. FRANCIS TAYLOR,
School Medical Officer
