TO THE CHAIRMAN AND MEMBERS
OF THE
LEYTON EDUCATION COMMITTEE.
Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen,
I have the honour to submit my Sixth Annual Report as your
School Medical Officer.
The Report in some material respects differs from that of
former years. The Board of Education having prescribed certain
forms for statistical records of Medical Inspection, these have
been adopted in the present Report in the place of those
previously used.
It gives me pleasure to record that the recommendation contained
in my Report of last year has received your whole-hearted
co-operation, viz., the adoption of methods of treatment for
certain ailments encountered in the course of Medical Inspection.
Thus the treatment of Ringworm (by drugs) and of minor
ailments is already in force, and you have agreed to undertake
the treatment of defective vision and of dental defects.
The treatment of defective vision you have made arrangements
to commence on the 1st of April, but that of dental defects
must be delayed until a suitable extension of our present premises
at the Town Hall is completed.
In conclusion, I desire to thank all the members and officials
of the Education Committee, and I desire to especially mention
my colleague Dr. Ball, for many acts of kindness and assistance
rendered to me during the year.
I am,
Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen,
Your obedient Servant,
J. FRANCIS TAYLOR.
