REPORT OF SANITARY INSPECTOR.
TO THE CHAIRMAN AND MEMBERS OF THE
LEYTON URBAN DISTRICT COUNCIL.
Gentlemen,—
I have pleasure in presenting my Nineteenth Annual Report,
for the year ending December 31st, 1909, on the work carried out
in the Sanitary Inspectors' Department.
INFECTIOUS DISEASE.
The number of cases of Infectious Diseases which have been
notified during the year was 945.
Under the superintendence and direction of the Medical Officer
of Health the invaded houses have been visited, instructions given
as to isolation of the infectious sick, and where such cases have been
treated at their homes subsequent visits have been made to see
that our instructions have been carried out. In searching for the
probable source of infection, inquiries have been made concerning
milk supply, Schools attended, the nature of employment of the
inmates, and also whether any public books, &c., are on the
premises. Necessary steps have been taken in connection with the
above matters to prevent the spread of disease.
