SCARLET FEVER.
Throughout the year there has been constantly a large number of
beds occupied, but in the autumn the somewhat sudden increase of
this disease in the District put a severe strain on the resources of the
Hospital, and every bed has been occupied on several occasions and for
varying periods of time.
The average time these patients were detained in the Hospital was
65 days.
