Shrubbery Road, Sparta Street (including Vine Cottages), Vian
Street, Wildfell Road and Terrace, and Wilmore Place.
The following is a summary of the principal nuisances found and shows the need for systematic inspection:—

The whole of the above.mentioned defects were remedied
on the service of notices, and no summary proceedings were
necessary.
Very little overcrowding was discovered, only ten cases
coming to our notice, but as proof of the necessity of this work
we need only mention that out of the 866 house inspected only
91, or 10.5 per cent., were without a nuisance of some kind,
whilst 492, or 56.8 per cent., required cleansing notices.
