TUBERCULOSIS—HOUSING.
During the year 534 premises were dealt with in which resided a person notified
during 1934 as suffering from Tuberculosis. 431 visits were made to premises
with a view to ascertaining the sanitary condition generally of the residences of
tuberculous patients and the following statement gives some idea of the conditions
which were found to exist.
It is satisfactory to note the large proportion of houses in a good sanitary
condition; in no case could it be said that the home conditions were very bad.

THE INFECTIOUS DISEASES IN THE PUBLIC ELEMENTARY
SCHOOLS.
1,867 cases of the notifiable infectious diseases occurred in the Public
Elementary Schools of the Borough, of which 660 were Scarlet Fever and 453
Diphtheria.
