Illegitimate Births (174).—The illegitimate births numbered 174 and
show a decrease of 12 on the return of the year 1933. They were equal to a rate
of 3.7 per cent. of the total registered births.

or 0.55 below that of the previous year (12.40), and 0.83 below the mean of
the preceding ten years; whilst the death-rate of England and Wales was 11.8
and the 121 Great Towns 11.8.
