Unsound Food.

During the year the following foods were voluntarily surrendered to the Public Health Inspectors as being unfit for human consumption:—

TonsCwts.Lbs.Ozs.
Meat14758
Fish2484
Frozen food1180
Tinned meat1503
Tinned fish708

The requests for the department to deal with frozen foods is invariably
due to a breakdown in the electrical supply to the frozen food cabinets
and it is easy to realise the implications of a prolonged power cut
in this connection.
