Public Health Inspectors' Work.
The number of visits paid totalled some 16,818 and covered the wide
variety of duties now generally associated with community and environmental
health.
Training of Student Public Health Inspectors.
The informal reciprocal arrangement with the Port of London
Authority for the training of Student Public Health Inspectors in practical
meat inspection at our slaughterhouses continued during the year.
In addition, the Council agreed to assist in the training of a limited
number of students from the Tottenham Technical College following the
closure of the Central Slaughterhouse at the Metropolitan Cattle Market
in Islington.
Shops Act, 1950.
The number of shops on the register at the end of the year was
1,196.
50 notices were served during the year regarding contraventions of
the Act.
