The Pool is sited on one side of the Pool Hall allowing for a
large public gallery with 474 fixed seats of tip-up pattern and the seating
can be implemented for Gala purposes.
A Buffet Bar is available for patrons and provision is made for a
restaurant.
The " Hy-gard-all" system of clothes storage has been adopted and
all bathers must enter the Pool through pre-cleansing tunnels with a
footbath and continuous shower sprays of filtered and chlorinated water.
Heating and ventilating is by the Plenum system and radiators. All
air circulated is filtered on intake and prior to re-circulation.
Full use is being made of the Pool by Hornchurch schools, the
attendance being 68 classes per week. That the Pool was a long-felt
need is amply proved by the attendance figures of the general public
