Inspection of Factories.
Far less supervision than is desirable was maintained because
of staff shortages but this section of our responsibilities will be restored
to its proper level at the earliest opportunity.
Apart from our own visits, H.M. Inspector of Factories keeps
in touch with us concerning defects of mutual interest.
Opportunity was taken personally to visit certain of the larger
factories in the District with most instructive results. It is always
interesting to see the actual work and working conditions occupying
