Milk in Schools Scheme.
16 samples were submitted to the Methylene Blue Test all of
which were satisfactory. In addition 5 samples were examined by
the Biological Test of which 4 were satisfactory.
Milk samples taken at Accredited Farms or in connection with
applications for "Accredited Milk" licences.
20 samples were submitted to the Methylene Blue Test of
which 18 were satisfactory and 2 unsatisfactory. In addition 3
Biological Tests were carried out all of which were satisfactory.
2. Ice Cream.
Essex County Council Act, 1933. Part XI.
Ice cream vendors or manufacturers are required to be registered
by the local Council under Section 158 of the Act, which was
adopted by the Council by resolution on 20th February, 1934, and
came into force three months later.
During the year 39 applications for registration were granted.
At the end of the year, 23 persons were registered as manufacturers
and 89 as vendors in the District.
3. Meat.
There are 5 slaughterhouses, 3 registered and 2 licensed, which
are visited regularly by the Sanitary Inspectors and the carcases
inspected.

In the following table appear the number of carcases inspected and the number found to be diseased or unwholesome.
