In addition, a male aged 51 years, who had lived in India, was
notified to be suffering from a relapse of Amæbic Dysentery for
which he was admitted to a special hopsital.
Erysipelas.
25 cases were notified, 9 males of which 4 were removed to
hospital and 16 females of which 6 were removed to hospital.
Enteric Fevers.
6 cases of Paratyphoid were notified, all being removed to
hospital and all recovered. The ages were:—males, 11: 8 and 4
years, and females, 16 : 13 and 8 years.
3 cases occurred in Harold Wood Ward, being two sisters and
a brother in one family. The cause of the illness was not ascertained.
2 cases occurred in Rainham Ward in February, but there was
no connection between them and the cause of the illness was not
evident.
One other case occurred in Cranham Ward in February which
cannot appear to have any connection with other cases.
One case of Typhoid Fever, a male aged 33 years, was notified
in the Town Ward in December and he was removed to hospital for
treatment. This man was engaged in loading barges on the riverside.
Public Health Act, 1925.
No action was taken during the year under Section 66 of this
Act or under Section 176 of the Public Health Act, 1936.
