COUNCIL OFFICES,
BILLET LANE,
HORN CHURCH,
Essex.
7th June, 1938.
To the Chairman and Members of the
Hornchurch Urban District Council.
Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen,
I have the honour to present my Annual Report on the Vital
Statistics and Sanitary Circumstances of the District for the
year 1937.
Housing development is still very active in the District, layout
plans for new estates have been submitted to the Council and more
than 2,000 new houses have been completed.
The year under review has been a healthy one and that the
District is a desirable one for residential purposes is shown by the
large number of new inhabitants which it attracts.
I wish to thank the members of the Council for their continued
support in my work and to acknowledge the assistance which I
have received from my fellow officers.
ALFRED BALL, M.D., D.P.H.,
Medical Officer of Health.
