In Hornchurch the total persons aged 15 to 44 years represent 501
per thousand of the population and in the Administrative County the
corresponding figure is 471.
These figures show that the population of the District contains an
unusually large number of young people and also tend to explain the high
birth rate. A high birth rate is frequently accompanied by a high death
rate but the favourable death rate experienced in Hornchurch shows that
this District is healthy and satisfactory for residential purposes.
