COUNCIL OFFICES,
HORNCHURCH,
Essex.
15th May, 1936.
To the Chairman and Members of the
Hornchurch Urban District Council.
Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen,
I have the honour herewith to present my Annual Report on
the Vital Statistics and Sanitary Circumstances of the District for
the year 1935.
Estate development is still very active in the District and about
10,670 houses have been built and occupied since Hornchurch
obtained Urban powers 10 years ago.
Perusal of this report will show that the Public Health is
satisfactory and that the District is a healthy one which attracts
many new inhabitants.
A survey of the houses under the Housing Act, 1935, has
shown that there is but little overcrowding.
I wish to thank the members of the Council for the support
which they have accorded me in my work and to acknowledge the
assistance which I have received from my fellow officers.
ALFRED BALL, M.D., D.P.H.
Medical Officer of Health.
