The Stanmore Sewage Farm deals with the drainage
from Great Stanmore. The treatment is somewhat
similar to the above and gives satisfactory results.
The Pinner works are being enlarged by the addition
of five screening and detritus chambers, seven open
settlement tanks, five circulating filters, each 85 feet in
diameter and 6 feet deep; and two humus tanks, with
pump house and machinery for sewage disposal. These
additions, together with the existing filters and settlement
tanks, will provide adequate treatment for the
drainage from the Pinner parish and a portion of Harrow
Weald for some time to come. The sewage from
Harrow Weald is dealt with at the Pinner works, as
already mentioned, and by agreement with the Wealdstone
Urban District Council.
Closet Accommodation.
All houses are fitted with water closets, with very
few exceptions, and these are in outlying parts of the
district.
Scavenging.
A weekly collection of refuse is provided for, the
work being done by contract, the cost of collection for
the year ending 31st March, 1926, being £2,806 10s. In
Edgware, Little Stanmore and Great Stanmore, the
work has been done well. From Harrow Weald a
few complaints were received at Christmas time.

since improved. At Pinner the work was done well
until the bad weather came just before Christmas, when
it got badly behind. Pressure was put upon the Contractor,
who then sent extra help and the work was
brought up to date. It is now going on well. At
Pinner and at Stanmore the refuse is taken to shoots
provided by the Council. There it is placed in a heap
and burnt. The Edgware, Little Stanmore and Harrow
Weald Contractors provide their own shoots. Great
