Although many of these are located at some distance from the Greater London area they will, in time,
attract a large part of its overspill population by re-locating industries and continuing the co-operation which

London Boroughs.
Throughout the year 530 new claims for Council tenancies were registered from families of two or
more persons and a further 81 applications were recorded from single elderly persons for bedsitting-room
lettings. At the 31st December 1963 the housing waiting list numbered 2,141 applications.
Families assisted in the course of the year were as follows
(a) Rehoused into permanent pre-war dwellings 87
(b) Rehoused into permanent post-war dwellings 110
