DIPHTHERIA
Two cases of Diphtheria were notified during the year, the first since 1956. The patients, who were
brothers, both attended a special school in Finchley.
A class-mate of the first case, who had returned from a holiday in Cyprus, was found to be a carrier
of the disease, and was probably the source of the infection.
