In most cases the necessary works were carried out before the hearing of
applications by the Magistrates. In others, where the mere extensive works were
required, and as this was the first inspection requiring the premises to be
brought up to a proper standard, suitable undertakings were accepted to carry out
the work within prescribed periods. These were all honoured and in no case did it
become necessary to object to the granting of a licence.
