The establishment is run by veterinary surgeons and is licensed for the detention
of 35 dogs at any one time.
During the year, 80 dogs were received at the premises after being authorised
to land in this country.
The dogs are kept strictly isolated from all other dogs during the six months
period of quarantine.
The premises are kept under observation by the Police and the Council' s Disease
of Animals Inspector to check on the presence and isolation of the dogs.
As a result of careful and strict observance of the Importation Order, no
rabies has been confirmed in this country since 1922.
