Of the 40 children, 33 died before reaching the age of 1 month, giving a
neo-natal mortality rate of 15.42 per 1,000 live births compared with 15.1 for
England and Wales,
MATERNAL MORTALITY
One woman died as a result of childbirth, giving a maternal mortality
rate of 0.46 per 1,000 total (Live & Still) births.
DEATHS FROM CANCER OP THE LUNG AND BRONCHUS
During the year in Hendon 26 men and 11 women under 65 years of age died
from this cause.
