MIDDLESEX COUNTY COUNCIL ACT, 1944, SECTIONS 353-363
The Council continued to exercise its function as the licensing authority under
the provisions of the above-mentioned Act. A person requiring a licence or renewal
of a licence under this part of the Act must make application to the Local Authority
giving certain information, such as age, nationality, technical qualifications and
the nature of the establishment and the business conducted thereat.
The Council considered and granted the following applications:-
New Licences 3
Renewal of Licences 31
Certificates lodged under
Section 363 by members of
the Chartered Society of
Physiotherapy 3
Licences Refused -
NATIONAL ASSISTANCE ACT, 1948
NATIONAL ASSISTANCE (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1951
Section 47
This section deals with securing the necessary care and attention by removal
to hospital or other place of persons who
(a) are suffering from grave chronic disease or being aged, infirm or physically
incapacitated, are living in insanitary conditions and
(b) are unable to devote to themselves, and are not receiving from other persons,
proper care and attention.
In no instance was it considered necessary to use the powers available under the
Act, but nevertheless the Act is valuable in that the knowledge that the statutory
power of removal exists often helps towards an effective decision.
