Deaths from Cancer of the Lung and Bronchus
During the year in Hendon 35 men and 6 women under 65 years of age died from this cause,
once more an increase on the total for the previous year.
SMOKING IN YOUTH CLUBS
An investigation into the smoking habits of a sample of members of Youth Clubs has been
recorded. On this occasion the ratio of smokers to non-smokers was about 50—50, a much higher
proportion of non-smokers than was noticed last year. This reduction in the number of smokers
may have been due to the effects of health education, or alternatively it is possible that a high
proportion of non-smokers would be found at a lecture on football by a Tottenham Hotspur.
