Stillbirths:
There were 26 stillbirths in 1950, giving a rate of 0.16
per 1,000 population as compared with 0.37 for England and
Wales.
Maternal Mortality:
2 deaths were registered as being directly due to or
associated with pregnancy or childbirth giving a maternal
mortality rate of 0.87 per 1,000 total births. This rate was
almost identical with that for the country generally, namely
0.86.
The following table shows the causes of death during
the year classified under the 36 headings based on the abbreviated
list of the International Statistical Classification of
diseases, injuries and causes of death:—
