HOME NURSING SERVICE:
A free nursing service is available for all cases of illness
which are being nursed at home. The service was previously
established on a voluntary basis, operated by a number of
District Nursing Associations and as far as Hendon was concerned,
these were co-ordinated by the Central Committee for
District Nursing Associations. The National Health Service
Act, however, placed the responsibility for the administration
and future development of the service on the Local Health
Authority. The services of a Home Nurse can be obtained
through the Doctor in attendance.
