SOCIAL CONDITIONS.
The development of the Borough continues to be, in the
main, of a residential character.
The unemployment figures at the end of the year show an
increase over the corresponding period of the previous year,
largely accounted for, however, by trade depression following
the crisis of September, but I understand that these figures
have now been materially decreased.
