SUMMARY OF NURSING ARRANGEMENTS, ETC.
PROFESSIONAL NURSING IN THE HOME.
(A)—General.
The provision of home nursing is not undertaken by the
County Council or the District Council. Voluntary Nursing
Associations provide a district nurse in each of the following
parts of the district:—
Central Hendon,
West Hendon,
Child's Hill,
Hampstead Garden Suburb,
These Nursing Associations are quite independent of Public
Authorities.
(B)—For Infectious Diseases.
No special provision is made, but complicated cases of
Measles, Whooping Cough, etc., are dealt with by the district
nurses asi part of their general work.
MIDWIVES.
The Hendon Urban District Council employs a Midwife
whose work lies mostly in West Hendon. The fee charged
for attendance on a confinement case is £1 10s. 0d.
The following are the particulars of the work of the Council's
Midwife during the year:—
Number of Confinements attended 90
Number of Antenatal Visits 336
Number of ordinary working visits 1659
Number of late visits (i.e., visits paid
after the normal period of 10 days) 69
The total number of Midwives registered for practice in
the district and resident in the district during the year
was 15.
