The Mothers' Rest Home at 110, Erskine Hill, Garden
Suburb, is a small cottage with accommodation for 3 mothers
and babies.
They are admitted for a fortnight's rest after confinement,
and may be either married or unmarried. The cases
come mostly from various parts of London.
The Hampstead Guardians maintain a cottage home, in
this district, for destitute children for whom they are
responsible. The address is Homesfield, Erskine Hill, Garden
Suburb. It provides accommodation for 26 children.
AMBULANCE FACILITIES.
The Council maintains two ambulances.
One is in charge of the Public Health Department and
is used exclusively for infectious diseases.
The other ambulance is kept at the Fire Station and is
available at all times for accidents and other non-infectious
cases, a charge being made for its use.
