suits of treatment. Children who require it are thus kept
under continuous observation.
The School Clinic is held at Burroughs House every
morning'. Children who have been excluded are brought
there to be re-examined by the Medical Officers with a view
to being re-admitted when fit; other children are brought up
by their parents for advice or are referred to the Medical
Officer by Teachers, Nurses, Attendance Officers, etc. For
certain minor ailments, such as Ringworm, Scabies and
Impetigo, ointments are distributed with directions for treatment.
470 children attended the Clinic and made 1,040 attendances..
188 cases of minor ailments were treated.
Practically all these cases may be regarded as complete cures.
A few, however, had not completed their treatment at the
end of the year.
A Scheme for treatment of Dental and Visual defects
at the Central Clinic and for daily treatment of minor ailments
at 2 school clinics (Central Hendon and Child's Hill) has been
adopted and will be put in operation early in 1926.
Open-Air Education.
Playground classes are held at many of the schools in
Summer.
Physical Training.
There is no organiser of physical training, but physical
training is carried on in all the Schools. The exercises are
performed out-of-doors when the weather permits and facilities
exist for indoor exercises in Halls, etc., when the
weather is unsuitable.
Provision of Meals.
The arrangement described in my report for 1922 was in
operation for the greater part of the year, the small number
of children considered to require this provision receiving meals
at certain caterers.
The number of families for whom this provision was made
was 3 and the number of children 8.
179 meals were provided at a cost of £5 19s. 4d., i.e.,
8d, per meal,
