Public health Laboratory, N.W. 9 for their valued assistance in
connection with samples of miscellaneous foods. Details of the
samples submitted will be found elsewhere in this report under
their respective headings.
(b) The Chief Officer of the Public Control Department of
the Middlesex County Council states that owing to staff shortage
it is not possible to supply the usual information about samples
of food and drugs taken in the District for chemical analysis.
Food Poisoning.
No outbreaks of food poisoning occurred during the year.
Complaints about Food.
Forty two complaints were received about food alleged to
be contaminated, unsound or not of the nature, substance or
quality demanded. Some were of a trivial nature but it was
decided to take proceedings in five cases.
