Facilities for the steam disinfection of bedding are available
when required at Ft. John's Hospital, Uxbridge, but it has
not been necessary to use these facilities during the year.
Ponds, ditches, Watercourses, etc.
The routine inspection of these sites for rodent infestation,
pollution, general nuisances and mosquitoes was carried
out and remedial action taken where necessary.
The canal feeder, which runs across the northern part of
the District was again the subject of complaint. Although the
responsible authority always takes palliative action when the
matter is referred to them it will undoubtedly remain a source
of trouble until it is filled in.
