figures will continue at this level as most of the adults and
older children who wish it have already been vaccinated.
The most remarkable set of figures in these tables are
those for vaccination against smallpox. These show a tenfold
increase for primary vaccination and a fiftyfold increase for
re-vaccination. This was due to the panic which swept the
country following the occurrence of anumber of cases of smallpox
in Yorkshire and Wales, and which I commented upon in my
last report.

Maternity and Child Welfare Services etc.
These are administered by the Middlesex County Council and
there are numerous sessions for ante-natal and post-natal care,
child welfare, immunisation and school health services in clinic
buildings, church halls, schools and the mobile clinic.
Medical Examination of Council Employees.
The total number of examinations carried out during 1962
was 128. Of these 30 were for superannuation purposes alone,
24 for admission to the Council's Sick Pay Scheme, 36 for Sick
Pay and Superannuation, 39 for various special purposes.
