Certificates of Disrepair.
The following action was taken under the Rent Act, 1957 in
connection with Certificates of Disrepair:-
Applications for Certificates of Disrepair (Form I) 22
landlords notified of proposals to issue a
Certificate of Disrepair (Form J) 23
Undertakings given by Landlords to remedy
defects (Form K) 14
Undertakings by Landlords not accepted 2
Applications for cancellation of Certificate of
Disrepair (Form M) 24
Applications for cancellation of Certificate of
Disrepair refused (Form R.C. 3) 12
Certificates of Disrepair cancelled (Form R.C. 2) 14
Application by Landlord or Tenant for Certificate
as to the Remedying of Defects which Landlord
has undertaken to remedy (Form 0) 23
Certificate as to the Remedying of Defects specified
in a Landlord's Undertaking to remedy Defects 22
Certificates of Disrepair issued (Form L) 10
Moveable Dwellings.
The Council owns a well equipped site for 95 caravans.
Last year I reported that proposals had been received for
improving one of the two unauthorised sites in the district to
bring it up to the standards required by the Middlesex County
Council Act. Unfortunately these proposals failed to get
Planning approval and the site owner was thereby provided with
an effective insurance against action under the Middlesex County
Council Act. As he is also protected against planning action
the site continues, larger and more unsatisfactory than ever;.
Very little trouble has been experienced from gypsies
during the year.
