THE FACTORIES ACT, 1937
There are one hundred and thirty factories with mechanical
power and eight factories without mechanical power on the Register,
with a range of products including:—
Aircraft, building materials, caravans, carbon products,
cheese, chocolate, cocoa, coffee extracts, electrical transformers,
furniture, lubricating oil, optical lenses, potato crisps, pianos,
radio, radar, television, gramophone records and gramophones,
rubber, tarmacadam and wood block floors.

Outworkers.
Part VIII of the Factories Act requires the occupier of a
factory who employs persons to carry out certain classes of work
in their own homes to supply a list of such persons to the District
Council every six months. Fifty-seven notifications have been
received and one hundred and five inspections made; in every
