PREVALENCE OF, AND CONTROL OVER, INFECTIOUS
DISEASES
(a) General.
Deaths from tuberculosis—these increased from twenty-one
last year to twenty-four.
Poliomyelitis— there has been a decrease in the number of
cases on last year's figures and the number of deaths was none
compared with four last year.
(b) Scabies.
Four children were treated for scabies during the year at
the clinic at the Hayes Cottage Hospital. On the 31st December
this clinic was closed down and arrangements made for cases to be
treated at Hillingdon Hospital.
(c) Diphtheria Immunisation.
This service is now undertaken by the Middlesex County
Council at the Child Welfare Clinics in the district.
