RODENT CONTROL
Two whole-time rodent operators are employed. Treatment is
carried out in accordance with the methods suggested by the
Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries. A charge to cover labour
and cost of materials is made for work done in business premises
but all treatment at dwelling houses is free.
During the year 524 dwelling houses and 223 business premises
were treated and also many hedges and undeveloped sites.
It was not necessary to take any statutory action under the
Prevention of Damage by Pests Act, 1949.
