previous inspection. On the whole, however, the quality of the meat sold is good.
The butchers, fish shops and other food shops are also inspected periodically.
During the year the following articles, which were found to be unfit for food, were
voluntarily surrendered : —

1 he total number of casts again shews a decrease, which is most satisfactory.

Fifty cases have been notified during 1921, which is two below the figures
of the preceding year. There was no epidemic. The notifications having been
spread fairly regularly over the whole year, and the majority of cases were of a
very mild type.
