Brucella Abortis - No samples have been examined for Brucella
Abortis as all milk sold within the Borough is heat treated

The results of bacteriological sampling of ice cream show
an improvement of the standard on 1971; the percentage of grades
III and IV has fallen from 23% to 8.5%
Four ice lollies were also submitted for bacteriological
examination and were found to be satisfactory

The results were mostly satisfactory, except for a short
period when unsatisfactory samples were being obtained from a
meat processing factory, which was quickly remedied by improvement
of the general hygiene within the factory Fresh cream was
also again giving intermittent poor results
