42 notices were served under these Regulations during the
year — a decrease of 54 on the previous year. No further statutory
action was required in respect of these notices.
Slaughter of Animals Act 1958
52 licences to slaughter animals were issued during the
year (a decrease of 7 on the previous year), 7 of which authorised
the licensees to slaughter horses, this being a regular practice
at one of our slaughterhouses.
23 of the licences were for ritual slaughter — 21 Jews and
2 Mohammedans.
With the exception of one journeyman all the licensees
are employed in slaughterhouses in this Borough.
