(b) Partially Sighted
At the end of the year 145 persons were registered as
partially sighted, an increase of 20 compared with the equivalent
figure for 1969. The age groups of those on the register are
given in the following table:-

Included amongst those removed from the Register were
seven persons admitted to the Blind Register, 44 out of 125
persons on the Register were near or prospectively blind. Ten
of those were in employment as were 20 other partially sighted
persons who were substantially handicapped in obtaining or
keeping employment.
3. Peaf and Hard of Hearing
A total of 125 deaf or hard of hearing persons were on the
register of handicapped persons at the end of the year. Details
of these are as follows:-
