Five employers were prosecuted for alleged offences under
the Acts. In one case, summonses were withdrawn on the date of
hearing. In the second of the cases listed above sixteen
summonses were dismissed by the magistrates on the grounds
that at the time of the offences the part of the premises concerned
was not within the scope of the Act. Costs of £37.5.0.were
awarded to the Council in respect of four cases.
