Twenty licences are in force in the Borough to operate plant
and equipment for the boiling of waste food for feeding to animals
and poultry as required by the Diseases of Animals (Waste Food
Order) 1957.
During the foot and mouth disease outbreak frequent visits
were made to all such licence holders and all other piggeries and
the breeders reminded of their responsibilities with emphasis
on the thorough boiling of all swill and the cleansing of their
premises.
