Common Lodging Houses
There are no registered Common Lodging Houses in the
Borough.
ESTABLISHMENT FOR MASSAGE OR SPECIAL TREATMENT
At the end of the year 17 licences had been issued by the
Council. One application for a licence to carry on an establishment
for massage or special treatment (Chiropody) was refused
as it was felt that the applicant had not had sufficient practical
experience.
The London Boroughs Association have established a
central registry of employment agencies, nursing agencies,
theatrical agencies, establishments for massage or special
treatment, refreshment houses and the like in which the Honorary
Clerk (the Town Clerk of Westminster) circulates quarterly
amendments which will enable Local Authorities to ascertain
the names and addresses of applicants who have been refused
applications by other Authorities.
LAUNDRY SERVICE FOR THE INCONTINENT
The total number of persons assisted by this service during
the year was 71. The number of garments washed during the
year was 13,943 and the number of visits paid to these cases
for collection and delivery was 2,083.
