In all cases of failure to satisfy the methylene blue test the
cause was inefficient stock rotation and this was taken up with
the person responsible and the necessary improvements effected.
All the samples of untreated milk were from a vending
machine supplied by a producer from outside this area and were
also submitted for examination both for anti-biotics and brucella
abortus. All these samples proved to be negative. This supply
was discontinued before the end of the year.
39 samples were submitted to the Public Analysts for
chemical examination and all were satisfactory. Three of these
were also tested for the presence of anti-biotics and proved
negative.
