SERVICES FOR THE BLIND AND PARTIALLY SIGHTED
Close co-ordination has continued between the Senior Medical
and Social Welfare Officers of the Department, and the head of the
Ophthalmic Department at Oldchurch Hospital to ensure that a high
standard of service is maintained in the services for the blind
and partially sighted.

The number of registered blind persons in the Borough at
31.12.66 is given in the following Table: —

Employment
30 Blind persons were employed at the end of the year, 2 in
special workshops, 3 in Home Workers Schemes and 25 in open
employment. The occupations of the 30 Blind persons in employment
were as follows:—
