pollution in Friern Barnet. This consists of a
daily smoke and sulphur dioxide recorder, which has
been installed in the Town Hall, and two deposit
gauges to measure the total solid matter falling in
the area, which have been sited in Colney Hatch Lane
and the High Road. This apparatus is now operating
continuously, but by the end of the year had not been
in use for sufficient time for any reliable conclusions
to be drawn.
One notification under Section 3 of the
Clean Air Act of a proposal to install a new furnace
was received but there were no applications for prior
approval.
