FRIERN BARNET URBAN DISTRICT COUNCIL.
Public Health Department,
20, St. John's Villas,
Friern Barnet, N. 11.
To the Chairman and Members of the
Friern,Barnet Urban District Council.
Gentlemen,
Herewith I present to you my Annual Report and
vital statistics for the year 1939.
The Ministry of Health have issued instructions
to the effect that the Annual Reports of Medical Officers
of Health should be curtailed as far as possible, and that
they should be confined to the presentation of essential
material, together with such comments as appear necessary.
The Report has been delayed, owing to the fact
that the Registrar Generals figures only became available
a few weeks ago, and also th the additional work placed on
the department in relation to Civil Defence.
The health of the district was good throughout
the whole year, and the infantile mortality rate very
satisfactory.
I am, Gentlemen,
Your obedient servant,
DOROTHY M. CATCHPOOL. M.B., D.P.H.
Medical Officer of Health.
