Non-notifiable diseases.
Measles.
This disease was not prevalent last year, only 9 notifications
from school teachers being received. One case with complications was
treated in Hospital, and made a satisfactory recovery.
Mumps.
There were only 10 cases notified by school teachers. The
disease was of a mild type, and the cases all occurred at the Oakleigh
M.C.C. Infants School. One case was removed to Hospital for treatment.
Whooping Cough.
Sixty-nine cases were notified, and this disease was again
very prevalent. The cases were about equally distributed throughout the
district. One case was removed to Hospital on account of complications.
Chicken-pox.
Only 2 cases were notified as against 103 last year.

The following table shows the number of cases of non-notifiable diseases which have been brought to my notice by school teachers and other officers of the Education Authority.
